The Two Bit Circus
Early in 2008, Brian Cowdery began an ambitious project, designing and creating a group of circus vehicles. It began with a single truck, which inspired another, then another, until there were seventeen vehicles, three trailers, and a six foot long Big Top tent, beautifully crafted by Marlene Cowdery. The entire group was sold to a client as a gift for his wife, who has it on display in their home. The couple graciously allowed the Two Bit Circus to be taken to Hot Springs, AR where it was exhibited in the Museum of Contemporary Art during the summer of 2009.
MOCA installation was accomplished with lots of help from Frank King, Marlene Cowdery, and Syneva Barrett. Museum photos by Alex Barrett.
